Virtual Pointing Ray

Validation level: 5. CHI, UIST, CSCW and TOCHI paper publication

A virtual pointing ray is a pointing technique that can also be used for selection. It works as a virtual laser pointer. With a physical device, you control a light ray that appears in the virtual world. To select a virtual object, you highlight it with the beam and perform another action. The beam can be rod or cone-shaped.
